Meet The Team

Registered Midwife
Mojgan Nadafi
With over 30 years of experience, I’ve had the privilege of supporting thousands of families through pregnancy, birth, and the early days of parenthood. My journey into midwifery began in Iran, where I grew up as the second of six children. I was just nine years old when I witnessed my mother give birth at home, a powerful moment that inspired my lifelong passion for women’s health and the miracle of birth.
I hold both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Midwifery from Shiraz University. For more than a decade, I practiced in southern Iran, working in hospitals and birth centers, teaching midwifery and nursing students, and contributing to women’s health research.
Since moving to Canada in 2006 and completing the International Midwifery Pre-registration Program at Ryerson University, I’ve practiced in Toronto, London (Ontario), and now Surrey, BC. I’ve supported births in homes, hospitals, and birth centers, both in solo and collaborative practice settings.
In addition to my clinical work, I serve as a clinical instructor for UBC’s Midwifery program, mentoring the next generation of midwives — a role I find incredibly meaningful.
I currently live in North Vancouver with my family and enjoy music, dancing, sports, and peaceful walks in nature.
It’s an honor to be part of your care team and to support you on your unique journey through pregnancy, birth, and beyond.

In the realm of midwifery, I firmly stand by the principle that every birthing individual should be the author of their unique story, making well-informed decisions throughout their journey. A birth experience, steeped in pride and confidence, is the birthright of every parent-to-be, and it is this belief that shapes every aspect of my practice.
My work is rooted in trust, collaboration, and respect for each individual’s values, choices, and lived experiences. I believe that informed, compassionate care lays the foundation for a strong start to parenting and lifelong memories of birth that feel empowering and positive.
Whether I am providing prenatal support, attending births, or offering guidance during the postpartum period, my goal is always to create a space where clients feel seen, heard, and deeply supported. I strive to adapt care to meet the unique needs of every family and to honor the diverse ways that pregnancy and birth unfold.
It is a privilege to walk alongside people during this transformative time in their lives, and I am continually inspired by the strength, vulnerability, and wisdom of the families I serve.

Greetings!
I was born into the hands of a midwife in Switzerland and have always been intrigued by the beautiful memory and experience my parents would fondly recall of my birth. From a young age I have been passionate about a career in health care, and have always bene motivated to improve both the quality and accessibility of care for people from all walks of life. I am originally from the foggy east coast of Canada and graduated from the University of New Brunswick with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2007. Early into my practice of nursing I held a special interest in well woman care and maternal and infant health and began pursuing midwifery. I graduated from the Metropolitan University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Midwifery in 2011.
I feel my exposure to many areas of our health care system has given me a unique perspective for the humbling and empowering work of midwifery. I hold a special interest in expanded scope midwifery and educating our next generation of amazing midwives to carry the torch! I strives to provide non-judgmental, holistic and individualized care for all birthing persons and their families that I am lucky enough to walk beside on their remarkable journey.
I spent the first several years of my midwifery career practicing in various communities throughout southern Ontario. In the spring of 2023 my partner and I decided we needed an adventure and have recently moved to British Columbia from Hamilton, Ontario. I joined the team at Surrey Mama shortly after moving and work primarily call shifts at Surrey Memorial Hospital. I look forward to meeting you and your family!

Nurse Practitioner
Yvonne Bone
I’m a Family Nurse Practitioner with a Master’s degree from the University of British Columbia’s Nurse Practitioner program. As an independent primary care provider, I assess patients, diagnose and treat health conditions, prescribe medications, order diagnostic tests, and refer to specialists when needed. My goal is always to provide compassionate, informed, and comprehensive care.
Before becoming a Nurse Practitioner, I spent 16 years as an educator in the public school system. Eventually, I felt called to pursue a different path and became a Registered Nurse, working in labour and delivery, diabetes management, pediatrics, and emergency care. These experiences deepened my passion for working with pregnant individuals, newborns, and young families — a passion I carry into my role at Mama Midwifery.
At Mama, I love the opportunity to follow clients through pregnancy and into the postpartum period, building lasting connections and supporting them during such a meaningful time. In addition to my work here, I also manage a full panel of patients in a busy primary care practice, caring for people of all ages and stages of life.
Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, skiing, camping, gardening, reading, traveling, and doing DIY projects around the house. I’m a proud mom to two young adults and spend most of my free time outdoors with my husband and our labradoodle, Finley.

I joined Mama Midwifery in September 2023, excited to bring my passion for midwifery and family care to the team. My interest in this work began with the births of my own children, when I experienced firsthand just how meaningful and empowering midwifery care can be.
After welcoming my second child, I completed my Doula Training in 2015 and have been dedicated to supporting families. I truly enjoy being part of a space where people feel seen, supported, and cared for during such a transformative time.
Being part of the Mama Midwifery team has only strengthened my goal of one day becoming a midwife myself. I feel incredibly grateful to support families through such meaningful moments and to be learning every day in this inspiring environment.
Outside of work, I live a busy and joy-filled life with my husband, our two amazing children, two lively dogs, and four quirky chickens. I love baking, spending time with friends and family, and finding moments of calm in the chaos.
I'm committed to creating a warm, welcoming environment for every family I meet, and I feel grateful to be part of a team that values compassionate, quality care in every interaction.
